They make the best sandwiches in the Hudson Valley. Big time overstuffed! Good for two meals. The flavor amazing. Bread was amazing. Very fresh. No extra charge for using a credit card! This place lives up to the hype.

Alright, let me tell you about Rossi & Sons, okay? This place, it’s the real deal. You walk in, and you know you’re in for something good. The sandwiches? Insane. Damn.

The sandwiches themselves? These things are huge, like “bring a friend or save some for later” huge. And fresh? Like they made it just for you (cause they did).

No seating inside? Yeah, but who cares? You take it outside, they’ll call your name like you’re some VIP. The staff? Top-notch. You want a great sandwich? This is the spot. You don’t try it? You’re missing out, capisce?

This place, it doesn’t disappoint. You’d be crazy not to try it.

One of the best sandwichs I have ever had. Absolutely worth the trip to this place. Delicious variety of bread paired with expertly made sandwiches. The Dario really stands out as well as almost every one of there sandwiches. All of there parmigiana sandwiches are totally on point too!

Today I saw my first cyber truck in Poughkeepsie, NY. I didn't have time to snap a picture so you'll just have to take my word on it. The event was followed by lunch at Rossi & Sons, an old school sub joint with extremely serious hero subs; I couldn't even finish the first half!! Regardless, The Number Four Sub (that's the name of the menu item) was one of the best chicken cutlet heroes I've ever had.

As I lifted the sandwich, it transformed into George Washington. With a wave of his hand, my overdue project organized itself, data filling in, graphs completing. He smiled and said, “Sometimes, you just need to take the first bite.” Then, he vanished, leaving behind the most productive lunch ever.

Sandwich Ingredients (The Number Four Sub): crispy chicken cutlet, prosciutto, herb pesto, fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers and extra virgin olive on our semolina roll.

When a NYC chef tells you the best sandwich he's ever had was at Rossi's when he was training at the CIA in Hyde Park, you just have to make (lots of) room in your stomach to track it down. We made sure to walk past Rossi's on our morning loop walk across the Walkway over the Hudson and the mid-Hudson Bridge, as Rossi's is near the Poughkeepsie side of the mid-Hudson Bridge. It was not yet open, so we returned after the CIA graduation to enjoy these huge, fabulously stuffed and flavorful sandwiches. Owner and staff were super friendly. You can choose to put the sandwich on a round focaccia, the slightly larger ciabatta, on the sesame semolina for an even larger sub, or on a truly huge focaccia. See composite image for the size of sub, 1/9th of the focacia, and the ciabatta sandwich. We got the Number Four sub and two Smokey Giuseppe sandwiches on focaccia and ciabatta. Absolutely delicious. In fact, the Smokey Giuseppe tasted equally divine when enjoyed hot, as a cold leftover eaten on the road, and reheated in the toaster oven as a picnic dinner for a riverfront concert that evening! Surprisingly, all those layers of thinly sliced and breaded eggplant held together for a neat eating experience. There are so many layers of flavors in the smokey giuseppe: fried eggplant, smoked provolone, mozzarella, ‘nduja (spicy salami spread), smoky eggplant spread, roasted pepper, tomato confit, crispy prosciutto and stuzzichino (spicy spread). And then we got to enjoy the stuffed focaccia, reheated in the oven, the next morning.

The sandwiches are AMAZING!! ?
They have kiosks you can order at but it did take a little long to get the food and they have limited seating so I recommend doing take out. You have to try it out!!
